College remains a top priority of most students who graduate from high school. - Make sure before you sign a lease exactly what you are responsible for, including damages, utilities, furniture, and other factors.
- Do a thorough tour around the apartment to check for potential problems or damages. Check for mold, utilities, and any furnishings that may have come with it. Taking pictures and notes will definitely be helpful in avoiding liability. Do all of this before signing a lease.
- If you are planning on living with a roommate, be sure to introduce yourself. Send him or her an introductory email. Tell them who you are and ask them about who they are. Having the right roommate or roommates makes a ton of difference when going to school, believe it or not.
